Gals' Guide Cheap Winter Tip:Art Institute & February Free Days
Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:17AM People say that some of the roughest time in Chicago is the period between end of January and early March. It's cold. Winter. Folks don't feel like going outside and everyone is waiting for college hoops to hit local pubs.
I say 'psshhhaw'.
Here is a tip for you to spend a nice night out these next weeks - and it won't cost you too much cash. First, go to the Art Institute. It's free ALL month. After you get your art fill on, you can enjoy a nice cup o' coffee or hot chocolate at one of many local chain restaurants on Michigan Avenue. Or, you can go ice skating at Millennium Park, followed by some hot chocolate or light dinner at Tavern at the Park, Park Grill or The Gage.
There is no reason to make yourself depressed about winter time in Chicago. Fight the urge to stay in. Just bundle up, grab some girlfriends and enjoy the many delights the city throws on you. Four seasons is a good thing.
