Surviving The Holidays: A Safety Seminar

Hey Gals! You remember Sensei Terrence Hale, right? He spoke on the Personal Safety Panel at the Gals' Guide Summit back in October. If you were unable to attend, here's a brief background: Sensei Terrance founded and is the head instructor of Survival Fitness, a professional training academy that specializes in martial arts, social programs, fitness and nutrition. His students "will learn stress reduction, discipline, confidence, weight management, and self defense.” You can read more about him from his bio on the Gals' Guide Summit Speakers page.

I've been able to keep in touch with Sensei Terrence after the summit and I'm happy that I did! I've been meaning to get involved with a self-defense class of some sort for the past year or so. Of course life got in the way and classes were canceled or I just forgot about it. I'm definitely disappointed that I just moved out of Chicago because Sensei Terrence let me know about a two-day Safety Seminar he's holding on November 14 & 15 in Chicago.

I know that most of the women in the Personal Safety Panel were very interested in what the panelists had to say and teach. Naturally I thought of you all when I received his flyer. I realize that being so close to the holidays that the price may seem a bit high, but I believe it's worth it. It's scary to think about how many women (and men) don't know proper ways of defending themselves while out and about in the big city. I really hope you give this class a chance!

If you go, please let me know! I'd love to hear all about your experience and I'm sure the rest of the Gals' Guide ladies would love to know as well.

Yes,you are right, the price does seem to be a little high, with the way the economy is-there are plenty of defense classes throughout the city that are free to the public.
