Holiday cookies for one - or two, three, four...

If you're like me, nothing gets you in the holiday mood like baking. Specifically, baking cookies and other treats. However, if you're also like me, then you probably don't want to eat 3 dozen peanut butter cookies by yourself. I've started giving away most of my holiday cookies and treats - to old college friends via a mailed care package, my secret snowflake gift exchange person at work, the man I tutor who just moved to town and doesn't know many people. I keep some for myself, of course.

If you don't have any old family recipes or a cookbood handy, the internet is your friend. There are literally thousands of holiday recipes out there for any type of holiday, tradition, regional specialties, ingredients, etc.

One of my favorites is probably one of the easiest also: Chocolate covered pretzels.

Just put a bunch of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl (seriously - make sure it's microwave safe. I melted a bowl making these.), stir until melted. Dip the pretzel in the chocolate sauce and place on a tinfoil sheet to dry. If you want to get super fancy, you can also drizzle a different color chocolate on the pretzels as well.  They're delicious and in case of mailed care packages, travel well.

Don't forgo baking holiday cookies if you're worried about the amount you'll make - just share!
