Gals' Guide Chicago Event: This Thursday
Drinks, Then Dinner!

We are all set to dine at CHIC...

Ok, finally, I made reservations at Chataigne, but I could always add MORE people. They don't start seating people until 7:30, so I suggest those that make dinner meet AHEAD of time if you CAN at the Green Door OR Nacional 27 at 6:30.

Now, the school orders the food ahead of time for the week, here is the menu (5 courses):

-Scallop Ceviche
-Halibut Dish with Vietnamese Pancakes
-Smoke Paprika Osso Bucco
-Risotto Milanese
-Yogurt Panacotta for dessert

It is BYOB and there is NO corkage fee.

So, please tell me if you are still in for dinner AND tell me about drinks before hand at 6:30.

Cool?

Thanks - RSVP Here.

Blankets, Food, Music..and
GG Goes to Washington

As usual, it was another fun night out with the ladies of Gals' Guide - we even had a guest who was looking for her church group, but hung out with us instead:)! Thanks to everyone who came  - I'm glad the weather held up and it didn't rain.  I will have the pictures up later today...

Highlights:

-The idea of taking a trip to Washington DC for the upcoming Presidential Inauguration looks like it may happen! Look for details, etc. on our upcoming trip in January. Thanks to Mala and Carrie who are helping with research.

-I learned more about the ladies last night. At the end of the day, working for yourself seems the way you want to go. The ideas and mentoring that flowed last night is exactly what alot of women need to put some hustle in their bustle.

-We made friends with the Millennium Park security guards. Apparently, my red balloon wasn't allowed on the grass. The security team felt bad for me and made sure no one took our spot.

-Jamie's Blueberry/Strawberry/Shortcake creation was a hit - and easy! Jam', maybe you can post the recipe on the site?

Chicago Ladies: See you TONIGHT!
Pritzker Pavilion-Look for Balloon

BalloonsHey Ladies,

Remember, tonite, 6 pm.

The Pritzker Pavilion of Millennium Park. Outdoor music and potluck. Bring a blanket, chair, goodies to pass or your own munchies.  Look for a balloon or series of balloons (depending on what I can get from Jewel. I will have it tied to my picnic bag.

Oh the sight of me walking up Michigan Avenue with a balloon, chair and a picnic basket? Priceless!  You'll get to see my sassy wrist brace, too:)

I will be there by 6 the LATEST.

When You Go to a Ball Game
Please Dress for the Ball Game!

RedwingsOk, ladies. Enough.

I’ve gone to enough baseball games, basketball games and hockey games to know that  a good portion of you do not dress for the event. I also live on the red line and see plenty of you taking a trip to Wrigley or U.S. Cellular dressed for I don’t know what. Let’s review.

Next Gals' Guide Fest!
July 17-Pritzker Pavilion

Mp_logo Woo-Hoo!  Mark your calendars for the next official Gals' Guide Fest: July 17.

This time around, we are going to explore the music and culture that is in this wonderful city. You may also know that I'm in love with global tunes.  Join me and your fellow gals on the lawn of Millennium Park's Pritzker Pavilion to hear the sounds of Fleet Foxes, Extra Golden, A Hawk and a Hacksaw and...The Boban & Marko Markovic Orkestar. This preview is in concert with the Pitchfork Music Festival , which is the same weekend.

I am particularly STOKED to hear the Markovic group again. I saw them at Hot House and could NOT stop dancing. Imagine a large group of brass, strings and drums making so much terrific music that you can't help but to dance.

The Scoop:

-Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, etc to work

-The Event is also within the Facebook Group:

-Head over to the Pavilion around 6, but I'll be there early.

-Bring some goodies and let me the rest of us know what you plan on bringing.

Here is a video of the Markovic Orkestar LIVE:
